MY Twenty-Twelve!!!

Well its officially the new year! I have been thinking a lot about what that means. If you're reading this you probably know that 2011 didn't necessarily have the happiest of endings for me. A lot of people told me that 2012 would be better "out with the old in with the new" I really liked that advice at first. But then I started to think about the past year and all of the things that happened. Since I didn't post ANYTHING all year here is a quick catch up.....

In March I was blessed my my first baby niece Annistyn. What a beautiful baby girl she is!

She's the first baby girl on our side of the family so she's a little spoiled sometimes but I think she deserves it :) I learned how to make a quilt and made this one for when she was born.

I finished up my first year at USU. I had a lot of fun adventures but not many pictures to show for it. This was when my friend Craig took me and his blind roommate Quinn out shooting. That was such an interesting experience!

After school I got to move back home for the summer. I got to spend a lot of time with my nephews and niece while they lived with us. Never a dull moment with these kids :)

I was also able to work at FMC again this summer. It was a lot of fun because my dad and brother both work there so I got to see them quite often. They definitely look out for me!

I also met a lot of new people and got to know old friends better. I loved that job for the most part... except one night when I was working graveyard shift and there was a packrat in the warehouse!!! Luckily he liked cheeze-its and I was able to catch him!

At the beginning of the summer I had the opportunity to spend a weekend in Roosevelt with a friend from school and his family. I went on my first real horse ride through the mountains and it was a lot of fun! I was too scared to go very fast though haha!

Every summer our family has a reunion at Cherry Hill water park.

I also got to go on my first backpacking trip. What a neat experience that was! It was so beautiful up there and I had a lot of fun. Thank you Orin :-)

Also thanks to Orin I had my first experience golfing (other than mini golf).
I can't say I was any good but it was fun to try!

I killed my first 'lil antelope! I was pretty excited about that! I went
deer hunting but was not as successful. But it was a fun experience!

In November I got to go with my family to Disneyland. We had a lot of fun on that adventure!

We were able to celebrate my Grandma's 90th birthday in November before she passed away this weekend. What an incredible woman she was. I feel so blessed to have had her for my grandma for so long.

I decided to learn how to make these cute blocks and was able to give them to
some special people for Christmas!

These are just a few of my experiences/ accomplishments in 2011 but it really was such a great year full of fun, learning, and great people. I was able to spend a lot of time with my wonderful family. I gained new family members who are so loving and supportive. So as 2012 begins I hope to not "be out with the old" because those are the people that made this year so great. I hope to keep all of my old friends and family members just as close. But I do plan to "bring in the new" and see what this year has to offer. I plan to embrace all of the opportunities I am given to learn, try new things, and meet even more great people.

New Adventures

Well... This year I started my new adventure at Utah State University in
Logan, UT I have LOVED it so far!! I have made lots of new friends
and had lots of fun... Oh and classes aren't too bad either haha.
Here are just a few random pictures from our apartment... the living room...
one of the bathroom areas... and of course my bedroom!

There were some mix-ups on move in day.... like which apartment
I was supposed to be in and such but it all worked out really well
and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new roommates!

Dani is from Honeyville, UT and she is a blast!
She is definitely the "mom" of our group which we love...
She interrogates guys when they come to pick us up for dates.

Ashley is from Boise... she is super sweet... we have gotten to
do a lot together and she is super fun!

Kylee is from Washington. She and Ashley are cousins and she's super cute.

Ashley's brother lives across the hall from us so we are good
friends with him and his roommates too.
We have gotten to do a lot of fun things since we've
been here but I haven't taken a lot of pictures.

A couple of weekends ago we went "camping"
It ended up being really cold so the guys just let us come
up for dinner and the fire and then we left.

The left picture below is me, Brad, Todd, and Tyson and
the right one is Kylee and Ashley while we were up in the canyon
This picture is pretty blurry but its our whole group minus Ash who is taking it...
But from left to right...
Tyson, Kylee, Colten, Brad, Me, Kellen, and Todd

This past weekend Ashley and I went to the Rodeo here in Logan
It was really fun even though we got a little cold
We got to watch goat tying which was definitely a new experience
Us being goofy

Like I said I am loving it and can't wait for more good times!
And I miss you all back home

Summer Fun

This summer I worked A LOT and didn't have time to do a lot
of things but I did get to spend time with my family and we did
some fun things with my nephews.

I'm not totally sure when I took these but I had to post them because it just made
me laugh.... both of the boys decided they wanted to try on my shoes
and walk around in them!!

We went to Hogle Zoo and they had fun playing in the
playground... maybe more than seeing the animals

Michael and Jake came to stay for a week and so
I got to help entertain them (give grandma and grandpa a rest!)

We went to Arctic Circle for dinner and ice cream...
Believe it or not, Michael is posing for this picture haha

Michael got to spend a night with Derek and Tamika and Jake
was a little jealous but he and I made some bird feeders with pine cones
and peanut butter he had a lot of fun with that!

Michael helped me make some cookies for our family reunion...
He was SOO good at scraping the edges of the bowl while it spun

They of course wanted to lick the beaters :)
At the end of the week we had our family reunion at Cherry Hill
Water Park

Jared LOVED crawling in the little kiddie pool

Jake was pretty terrified of the dragon slides but seemed to enjoy the pool, and the lazy river before it started spraying him

Michael liked going on the slides but he mostly just liked swimming on his back

We got to play mini golf!!
And my mom and I did the batting cages!!!

Orlando!

So... back in April I had the chance to go to a big international convention for Phi Theta Kappa
which is the honor society for 2-year colleges. I went with two other officers from our school to ORLANDO for a few days!

We drove to Salt Lake City......
Me Kelly Darcy
....and caught a red-eye flight!! We had a layover in Altanta
(you can tell how tired we all were) We got to Orlando in the early morning.

We stayed at the Swan and Dolphin Resort Hotl which was nice
(other than having to pay for the expensive food) We went to
A lot of different classes and heard some great speakers....
Luckily we had some free time to wander around and have some fun too :)

We walked all around the Disney Boardwalk to do a little shopping

I got to see some real live fruit trees!!

And of course Kelly and I had go to Disney World!
We went on all of the rides... and they even stayed open an hour later for those of us there from the convention!

There was a boat that took you around on a little tour from our hotel
so we went on that a few times

One of the nights we had a big formal dinner and dance which ended being a lot of fun

This is our group by the fountain at the hotel before we left
